Night is long, walk on girl

Girl who likes drinking goes on a trip around Kyoto, while guy who likes her tries to get a date with her.
A surreal little movie but another good one from Masaaki Yuasa. Liked this more than Lu over the Wall, which felt a little disjointed. It's been months since I watched that so I can't really remember the exact details, but I do remember being a little unsatisfied with it.
It's based on Tomihiki Morimi's work of the same name, and as usual he set it in Kyoto. 80% of why I love Kyoto is because due to Uchouten Kazoku which is also written by him so I'm just inherently biased, but it's a really enjoyable movie about...romance? I guess?
One should go in being just prepared for whatever the movie throws at them, and they will have a good time. Certainly not a realistic movie, but that's the beauty of animation.
Also there was a reference to Uchoten Kazoku which is the most important part of the movie imo...I really have to read Tomihiko Morimi's works some time.

ngl I'm just shilling this series because I love it
